My friend Matt takes great photos but his camera’s been gathering a bit of dust the last while, so, since we both wanted a change of scenery and hate posing, we decided to model for eachother in the forest…given our mutual fondness for being on the other side of the camera, it was an interesting exercise but lots of fun nonetheless…
I can’t remember when last Capetonians were as spoilt for choice of cool gigs as we were last Saturday. A little bit of disappointment was inevitable, but while I’m sorry to have missed Desmond & the Tutus and Holiday Murray at The Assembly, I really enjoyed seeing Coal again and am glad to have caught Them Tornados before they take some time off from gigging.
I’ve always liked the whole Steampunk aesthetic and have wanted to try doing something in that style…luckily for me, not only is my brother a willing model who feels the same, but he also builds bizarre pneumatic weaponry that made a great addition to the outfit we DIYed on Saturday.
After closing their doors to move down the road, Zula celebrated their grand re-opening with an impressive line-up of bands over last Friday and Saturday. I’m not an aKing fan so gave the Saturday a miss, but checked out the Friday, along with what felt like 1000s of other people…
The first thing I thought of when I read the word ‘stay’ was the command you’d give to a dog, from there I got sidetracked thinking about ownership and the selfish ways we sometimes keep things locked away and all to ourselves…
