Illustration Friday: Stay

ART

The first thing I thought of when I read the word ‘stay’ was the command you’d give to a dog, from there I got sidetracked thinking about ownership and the selfish ways we sometimes keep things locked away and all to ourselves…

This is great, really liked your other illustration friday with the rabbits to.
I have also though about ownership like this.

It IS as though we collect and bottle what should be enjoyed freely as it passes through the day, our lives… good to see none of your bottled treasures is feeling short of air – yet.

  3. Nice job! But how are they supposed to breathe?? I promise not to put anything living in a jar this week :)

I was going to give them some breathing holes but it seemed like too nice of a thing to do; things are bleak for these guys I’m afraid, at least for the moment …

Thank you all for your comments, I really appreciate them.

I love your use of texture and the thoughtfulness of this concept. It’s such a creative twist to use the bottles instead of cages.

Such a lovely illustration, but a very disturbing image. It does make us think, which is the intended effect.
I’ll be right over to release the creatures. :o)

    Wonderfully illustrated and thought-provoking! Love.

  8. I seem to have missed this one at the time. I really like it!! Well done!
