So Saturday May 21 was supposed to be the rapture, or the end of the world or whatever…obviously it wasn’t, which is a little embarrassing for the Camping Clan but just as well as the 6pm apocalypse would’ve meant missing out on a night of fun at the Assembly with Gazelle, Jeremy Loops & Co and Two Minute Puzzle.
The middle part of Wednesday is a blur of fever and delirium – I started feeling really sick round lunchtime and was then comatose till round 8. I hate sleeping in the afternoon because I always wake up disorientated and mildly freaked out; luckily I felt significantly less sick upon waking and was still determined to head to the Purple Turtle and attempt to survive what was sure to be a night of madness and high energy with Jax Panik.
After rising early in the morning and blackening my thumb for democracy, I took the first cable car up Table Mountain and spent the morning walking through the mist and tourists on the top.
So, since Cool as Folk, I’ve joined what might just become a revolution and am a big fan of Jeremy Loops. Last Friday he played a bursting-at-the-seams show at Knoxville along with a few friends/guest musicians and it was crazy cool. I’d heard good things about Holiday Murray and thought their video for Jirey was pretty cool, but I was still undecided about checking out their album launch. Then I heard Bateleur would be playing too – because I liked them so much the last time I saw them, I decided to go and am really glad I did.
