Bellareathe moonstone ring

On the first weekend of March I had a lovely time wandering around the Design Indaba expo at the CTICC. There were loads of beautiful things on display; unfortunately I didn’t take any photos on the day but I did buy a really stunning ‘Dali Ring’ from Bellareathe Jewellery (who had a beautifully decorated stand – I’m a sucker for moss).

I’ve been meaning to photograph it for a while and I finally did so earlier this evening.

Baby lizard

I’ve been rather neglecting my blog lately, so in an effort to remedy this I went looking through my photos today and found these, which I meant to post back in Jan but forgot…

I’d planned on making something to acknowledge Chinese new year and the fact that this is the year of the snake (because I like snakes and am one in the Chinese zodiac), but haven’t been able to get around to that yet. So, until I do, this surrogate reptile will have to do – this is a little baby lizard on my brother’s finger, it was tiny and totally adorable.

Cape Town Electronic Music Festival 2013 (Friday & Saturday)

In March last year the first ever Cape Town Electronic Music Festival was held at the V&A Waterfront rooftop parking lot. I didn’t go so was doubly keen to do so this year, especially since headlining the Friday night was Canadian techno legend Richie Hawtin.

Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Cape Town Stadium

I remember, ages ago, this email petition doing the rounds, ‘Get the Red Hot Chili Peppers to play in South Africa’…fast forward a few years and they actually did! And I really hope everyone who signed that petition got to see them, because the show was pretty damn amazing.
