Before their show at Kirstenbosch that evening, I attended American folk band The Lumineers’ press conference with Tecla to get some shots of the band for Texx and The City. The band were very down to earth and all seemed like a sweet bunch of people.
Last Sunday the V&A Waterfront held a mini folk fest at their amphitheatre – the David Meulen trio provided the perfect soundtrack to the warm Sunday afternoon, here are some shots from their set.

I know I just posted a condensed version of the last 2 months of Thursdays I’ve shot at Aces ‘n’ Spades, but last week’s show with Van Coke Kartel was just so good it warranted its own post. It was really one of those shows that reminded me why I love photographing live music so much – pure energy and excitement.
