I’ve been fending off flu for the last few months but unfortunately it got the upper hand on me last Friday. I got to ROAR early, found a dark corner (which wasn’t hard) and zoned out till the bands started – luckily it turns out a night of headbanging and shredding was exactly what I needed and by the end of the night I felt a whole lot better.

Stelth Ulvang of American folk stars The Lumineers recently completed a tour of Southern Africa that included festivals in Mozambique and Swaziland as well as a bunch of shows around SA. I caught two of his last shows – the City Soiree at the Youngblood Gallery on Saturday and the Secret Soiree at a house in Woodstock on Monday. Both were really lovely – here are some shots from the two nights.
Manny Walters launched his EP Anecdotes to a packed Blah Blah Bar last Saturday. It was my first time at the venue and I really enjoyed it, plus the music was great.
