I got to meet up with the guys from Early Hours for a quick editorial shoot for Texx and the City ahead of their show at the assembly last Saturday. Here are some of the shots we did at The Village Idiot.

Over the last weekend of May the first Electronics & Gaming Expo was held at the CTICC. My brother and I had initially planned to just check it out on the Friday but because it was so quiet we decided to come back the next day, which was the right decision as the place was packed and most of the advertised events and competitions were taking place. Here’s a look at days 1 and 2 at EGE CT 2015.
It was all really short notice but it worked out so well – I had a crazy day planned last Thursday but luckily things fell into place so that I was able to meet with the guys from Hog Hoggidy Hog to do a press shoot during their only free time ahead of their big comeback show at the Assembly the following night.
I met most of them for the first time that night, and for a band with a 20 year career and such a legendary status they’re all the nicest bunch of guys – relaxed, having a laugh, not taking things too seriously and all super down to earth. The evening was a riot and definitely one of my most enjoyable shoots.
I was sad I couldn’t attend their show at the Assembly, but now with the crushing knowledge that it was to be George’s final performance, the word sad doesn’t carry enough weight.
The news of his tragic and untimely death trickled slowly across my newsfeed on Sunday morning and for a while I couldn’t process it. I didn’t know him and we’d only just met but the memory of his handshake and the image of him was still very fresh in my mind. The feeling was surreal.
My deepest condolences and thoughts are with his family, friends and all those many, many people who sang along, danced to and were inspired by his music who are hurting now. And to the Hogs – I’m so glad and grateful for Thursday night and so very sorry. My heart’s breaking for you all.
Rest in peace George.

Following last year’s shoot for Sonor, I recently did another fun with drummer extraordinaire Werner von Waltsleben, this time for Pro Mark drumsticks and Evans drum skins. Here are a few shots.
