Södermalm
I spent my fourth day in Stockholm exploring the shops and streets of Södermalm. The highlights included great views, second-hand shopping and a tasty fish dinner.
After the previous day’s running around I didn’t have anything planned so just wandered around town. The walk up the steps to Katarinavägen was pretty rough on my unfit self, but the view from up top was really cool.
From the Katarinahissen the view was even better. The landscape wasn’t as picturesque as it could have been owing to all the construction but it was interesting to see it from above.
I poked around a few second-hand stores which was a big highlight for me: I bought an awesome technical jacket and pair of leather boots for around R500 (300kr), which was an amazing deal. Think I might’ve had to wear the jacket on the plane home because it was quite heavy, I can’t remember…
As I was being super stingy with money I hadn’t eaten any warm food in a while so decided to treat myself and try something local, so stopped by this herring truck near the metro entrance. The fish was so good (I could have done without the knäckebröd though, it tasted pretty awful).
I took the long way back over Katarinavägen again. I didn’t have my tripod with me unfortunately but the views and lights were lovely nonetheless.
