It took me longer than I thought it would to put this post together – seems there were a lot of photos I took last year that I never had the time to edit or look at again afterwards. These are the ones in-between the loud weekends at gigs, the funny moments, little memories and the I’ll-edit-these-laters that slipped through the cracks.
Most were taken on my ‘little’ camera.
Summer: January – March
The beginning of a new year…
Autumn: April – June
A time of year I really like, not that we get much of an Autumn here but anyway…
Winter: July – September
Looking for a file at work on my coworker’s computer while he was holiday in Thailand, calling everyone over to giggle at his hilarious wallpaper before giving him a new one.
Then there’s the kite.
One particularly miserable day at work, I suddenly feel compelled to look up, so I do, I stare straight out the window infront of me, at the mountainside and dark sky. After about 10 seconds, and out of nowhere, a rainbow kite with a ribbon tail comes dancing out from behind a tree. It was amazing, I can’t explain the feeling, but it was almost magical. A little moment of wonder.
Perhaps even weirder is that the moment repeated itself a few days later, that’s when I ran to the window to take a picture. Amazing.
Random Sunday visit to the little (and apparently quite arty) town of Philadelphia with their lovely cyclamen-covered post office. Petting zoo at the office for a director’s birthday. The beautiful Gooney Bird Dakota, little over a month before its horrific and tragic crash.
Spring: October – December
I get a lens I’ve been lusting after for ages. Bruce, my amazing boss, resigns to go solo again. I go up the Garden Route for the first time and am overcome by the forests in Nature’s Valley. Our office Christmas party is as crazy as I expected. We attend the intensely emotional memorial for the Dakota at AFB Ysterplaat on my mom’s birthday. Another Christmas party with Jess’ family. Fun-filled new year’s eve braai.

Time Flies….
Looking forward to another year of special moments and new memories; I’m a bit late but have a great year, everyone!
