It was another particularly hot night in Cape Town, but that didn’t stop the dancing at Ragazzi, where Your LMG’s Dirty Xmas party welcomed the weekend in style with the help of Make-Overs, Beach Party and The Future Primitives.
I’d been meaning to check Ragazzi out for a while and am glad I finally did – down in the dodgier end of Loop Street, it’s a cool place with a great vibe (and an awesome karaoke bar just a short, drunken stroll across the road) and, by the end of the night, an awesomely decorated giant guitar outside its doors.
Make-Overs were a big highlight for me at Synergy, (and a big motivator in getting me out to Ragazzi on such a scorcher of a night) and I was looking forward to seeing them again.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, I just love how two small people can be so loud, it’s amazing. They’re an awesome live band.
Beach Party can always be counted on to put on a fun, energetic and entertaining performance…
I admit I wasn’t mad about The Future Primitives the first time I heard them, but I think they’re starting to grow on me, plus they have some perfectly styled album art which definitely scores points for overall appeal.
