Tuesday 30 April was my last day at my job of 5 years, and I can’t think of a better way to have celebrated than by watching some of my favourite local bands…and enjoying a lie-in on Worker’s Day morning the next day.
After Tuesonfire at &Union, we headed over to Zula for coffee before the show, which happily didn’t start too late (I may no longer have the excuse of having to work in the morning, but I still dislike overly late nights…).
Coal were up first, and were lovely as ever. It’s been so long since I’ve seen them that I doubly enjoyed their set. I hope it isn’t so long until they’re on stage again…
Up next were Wolftown. I’ve never been the biggest fan but I quite enjoyed them this time, maybe the fact that I hadn’t seen them in a while too also helped.
The Sleepers closed things off, with style, as ever. Another one of my favourites, it’d also been too long since the last time I’d seen them. They’ve been busy in the studio with their upcoming album, and I can’t wait till it’s released.
