I’ve been taking photos for ages and really got interested in photography when I was around 14/15. One of the things I love about the whole digital age is that you can take as many photos as you like without worrying about film and development costs; in my mind this means ‘take photos of everything, all the time’, so that’s what I did for a long time and now I have hardrives full of forgotten pictures…
It seemed like a nice idea to go through them and re-look some of the more interesting ones, so here’s the first lot from the archives, from this time 6 years ago up till now…
2005: shooting with a Canon Powershot A95 – the most wonderful compact I’ve ever used…my dad also bought a second-hand Canon film camera round this time an I took a few shots on it too.
2006: A95 again and my mom’s Nikon D70s with Lensbaby. I totally forgot that I ever shot that Nikon but actually did so for quite a while. The Lensbaby is so much fun but I never use it much these days…think I’m gonna have to start playing with it again though…
2007: Old faithful the A95 again. I really miss that camera, if I could I’d still be using it now but it finally conked out after 3 or so years of faithful service…
2008: my dad had bought the Canon 30D some years before (it’s around my mom’s neck in that photo of her from ’06) and subsequently had it hijacked by my mom until she returned to Nikon, at which point I grabbed onto it and didn’t let go till May last year. Another really super camera, I loved it.
2009: 30D & borrowed 8mm Sigma fisheye.
For a long time my default lens was a 17-70mm; when it broke I replaced it with a 15-85mm and now barely use my other lenses, which is a pity but hard to avoid given how much I love the versatility and performance of the lens…
2010: I got my 7D in May 2010; for whatever reason, I didn’t take many photos when I first got it (hence just the 2 pics below) but it was definitely love at first sight. I adore that camera.
2011: Back to the present…here’s a random photo of my brother from the first of June:
Other stuff from June this year is over here.
Thanks a lot for the blog post.Really looking forward to read more. Really Cool.
