One reason that I love this time of year is that the magnolias are blooming everywhere, especially out in Stellenbosch.
We took the scenic route through Stellenbosch while heading home from Gordon’s Bay. It was a really beautiful afternoon, and the church in Kerk Str with it’s amazing garden looked particularly pretty.
The first and last time I visited Gordon’s Bay’s Bikini Beach Books – an old beachfront house overflowing with books – was around 2 years ago, so I figured a revisit was long overdue…
EDIT: I’ve been getting loads of random emails asking me about books…to clarify for anyone who’s uncertain: I’m not affiliated with this book shop in any way, I just like visiting it! Please stop mailing me about books you want me to send you…thanks!
Went for a walk on top of the mountain the other day and saw these two lovely birds…
I’d seen that little Sunbird before on the same bush – obviously it’s his spot. The raven was one of several flying over the rocks, the tourists and the skyline in a manner that was downright majestic.
