Half Price, The West Coast Wolves, Monitor and the energetic show-stealers Swatting Bats put on a good old fashioned (read: sweaty) punk show at Mercury last Friday. There was loads of moshing, stage-diving and frantically-paced music – everything you’d expect really.

The 2016 Cape Town Electronic Music Festival finished with a super chilled Sunday evening featuring an epic 3 hour set by DJ EASE of the legendary Nightmares on Wax.

Day 2 of the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival turned up the energy with loads of energetic live performances from Dope Saint Jude, Driemanskap and Petite Noir (doing his first live performance in Africa backed by a full band). Of course there were many great electronic sets too from the likes of Sibot, Aero Manyelo, British headliner Goldie and many more.

Last Saturday I attended the first of Metal4Africa’s 2016 bi-annual festival events, the M4ASummerFest. Since the usual venue (Stellenbosch‘s Klein Libertas) is still under reconstruction, the fest was held at a new venue: a warehouse/langarm dance hall in Brackenfell Industria.
The vibe was great and the show lots of fun, here are some shots of the bands that performed: Megalodon, Wildernessking, The Drift, Subvers, Imperial Destruction, Wargrave, Take Hand, Fuera and Subject to Slaughter.
