In spite of the recent cold spell, summer is easing in over the mother city. It may not be my favourite season, but I do like that it means extended evenings, and that the Table Mountain cable car stays open an hour later to enjoy them.
Halloween weekend is always a busy one – every venue is having a big party and there are a million options, making choosing where to go pretty hard. I rate I chose wisely though: Mercury boasted a great line-up of The Great Apes, Dead Lucky, Machineri & Basson Laubscher & The Violent Free Peace, along with some awesome costumes and great lighting.
I don’t entirely understand how The Assembly’s Miller Music Series works (themed by international cities in some way…?) but so far their line-ups have been really cool; from VCK & Foto na Dans last month, to The Pretty Blue Guns & The Windy City last Saturday.
Coal put on another lovely show at the Waiting Room on Tuesday night and were joined by The Red Robins.
