Thunder and lightning isn’t very common down in Cape Town, but it’s weather I really love. I sat outside in the rain and wind last night with my brother (he has uncanny lightning precognition) watching the lightning over the mountains and was lucky to get a few shots, below is my favourite one.
I’ve never photographed lightning before but it’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Hooray for beautiful evenings in the Cape.
On the weekend of the 3 & 4th November, Muizenberg’s skies were brightened by a collection of local and international kites of all shapes and sizes at the 18th annual Cape Town International Kite Festival.
It was Halloween, and the 8th annual South African Horrorfest was a week into its 10 day programme. As dusk descended on the Labia Theatre, a crowd began to gather for the evening’s show – a screening of the 1922 silent classic Nosferatu, revived by a live soundtrack performed by The Makabra Ensemble.
In honour of Halloween, and to raise awareness/funds for the Lucky Lucy Foundation, a formidable crowd gathered at the Sea Point promenade for the third annual Great Cape Town Zombie Walk on Saturday afternoon.
Lame title, I apologise, but I’m stressed and tired am not dealing with it very constructively – instead of getting on with work like I should be, I spent some time outside with my cats this evening. Have to say I’m finding it hard to do anything else at the moment…There are a million things happening in Cape Town this weekend though, so hopefully I’ll have some more interesting blog content up soon.
