Oh, Cruel Fate, Joshua Grierson and The Sleepers played a great gig at ROAR last Sunday in celebration of their mutual friend Frank Moody‘s birthday. The vibe was relaxed and loads of fun, and felt kinda like an extended house party.
I actually completed this painting a while back but have been slack about posting it…so, here it is – my first portrait of an African (and one of my favourites) animal , the majestic cheetah.

David Meulen launched his debut album @davidmeulen last week at Roodebloem Studios in Woodstock. It was a beautiful night and a really lovely event.
I don’t know when I started this little painting, but it must have been around 2010, because that’s when I took the source photo…Anyway, it’s been hanging on my wall incomplete (just half an acrylic base coat) for the last few years so I decided to finish it up this week. This is Hammond, our family’s first cat, who adopted us in 2001 (followed swiftly by his ginger cohort Lynx). We don’t know his exact age but estimate him to be around 17.
