Dangerfields, Diamond Thug and Caelo at Mercury

Sat 25 February 2017

This was a weird one…on paper this gig seemed great (I’m a fan of all the bands and generally enjoy watching them) but somehow it didn’t translate to a great real-life experience. Lo Ghost at Cafe Roux CT

Tues 21 February 2017

I’ve been keen to check out alt electronic soul (for lack of a better description) duo Lo Ghost for a while, and when I finally did I wasn’t disappointed – their show at Cafe Roux, while apparently a bit more mellow than their usual set, was a great introduction to their sound. Sometimes it can be distracting when band members swap instruments but the dynamic between Shannon Devy and Evan Strauss, both very strong vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, is great, and their performance felt very fluid and natural.

If you’re a fan of intelligent and emotive music I definitely recommend checking them out.
