The Little Kings at the Grand Daddy Hotel

I’ve wanted to check out the rooftop trailer park at the Grand Daddy Hotel for ages, and finally got the opportunity to do so on Friday evening.

Each trailer’s interior was designed/decorated by a different artist; a friend’s staying in ‘Dorothy’ so we got to explore inside it.

Jack Parow & Van Coke Kartel at Kirstenbosch

On Sunday, my friends and I joined some 6000 other people for Jack Parow & Van Coke Kartel’s Summer Sunset concert at Kirstenbosch.

Jess made a great observation: the ticket said ‘Jack Parow with Francois van Coke acoustic’, so Mnr van Coke was there with his acoustic guitar, but so was the rest of Van Coke Kartel, along with some guest strings…then some Fokofpolisiekar guys came on and did a track or two, and later Die Heuwels Fantasties came out to do a track with Jack Parow – so we went to see 2 guys and all their friends ended up coming along, it was great!

Cape to Rio departure from Signal Hill

Another hot day in Cape Town, but at least the wind’s taking a break…stood on Signal Hill and watched the boats depart on the Cape To Rio at noon today:
