It was a dark and stormy night, but inside the Kimberley Hotel<\/a>, those who braved the intense cold were\u00a0rewarded with a lovely laid-back evening courtesy of Benguela, Sannie Fox<\/a> and Gary Thomas.\"Gary<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Though I knew of them, I’d never seen Benguela before, and though they were unfortunately without their bassist, I still really enjoyed Alex Bozas and (the night’s only drummer) Ross Campbell<\/a>‘s jazzy instrumentals.<\/p>\n

They also set the tone for the rest of the night – people were sitting cross-legged on the floor, listening intently and watching in silence, a phenomenon I’ve witnessed rarely enough<\/a> and never before at the Kimbo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
