beautiful place, but sadly I don&#8217;t visit that often&#8230;but free entrance is a great incentive &#8211; this is a combined post of my last 2 visits: World Biodiversity Day on May 22nd and the title=\"Winter roses\" href=\"http:\/\/lauramccullagh.com\/blog\/2013\/07\/winter-roses\/\" target=\"_blank\">The day before my birthday<\/a> might have been iffy weather-wise, but it was also World Biodiversity Day at Kirstenbosch and so free entry! <a title=\"Parklife Festival: Xavier Rudd, Jeremy Loops &amp; Farryl Purkiss at Kirstenbosch\" href=\"http:\/\/lauramccullagh.com\/blog\/2013\/03\/parklife-festival-xavier-rudd-jeremy-loops-farryl-purkiss-at-kirstenbosch\/\" target=\"_blank\">I hadn&#8217;t been there for a while<\/a> so really enjoyed wandering around and seeing how many centenarian plants (marked with plaques) I could spot and was happy to learn some of my favourite trees (particularly the Ginkgo and Atlas Cedar) are over href=\"http:\/\/lauramccullagh.com\/blog\/2012\/06\/little-friend-in-a-golden-web\/\" target=\"_blank\">Black Legged Orb Weavers in the gardens, perched in their beautiful golden a bit to another winters&#8217; day: the gardens celebrated their 100th birthday on July 1st and were once again open for free all day. I stopped by in the late afternoon for a short walk.
