{"id":12367,"date":"2013-05-27T12:19:08","date_gmt":"2013-05-27T10:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lauramccullagh.com\/blog\/?p=12367"},"modified":"2013-05-27T12:21:01","modified_gmt":"2013-05-27T10:21:01","slug":"dutch-tall-ships-at-the-waterfront","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lauramccullagh.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/dutch-tall-ships-at-the-waterfront\/","title":{"rendered":"Dutch tall ships at the Waterfront"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"eventDate\">12 &amp; 14 May<br \/>\n2013<\/div>\n<p><a title=\"Aboard the 92 year old Russian Sailing ship, The Sedov\" href=\"http:\/\/lauramccullagh.com\/blog\/2013\/04\/aboard-the-92-year-old-russian-sailing-ship-the-sedov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Following pretty closely after last month&#8217;s Russian <em>Sedov<\/em><\/a>, two weeks ago the <a title=\"Red Bull Flugtag 2012 at the V&amp;A Waterfront\" href=\"http:\/\/lauramccullagh.com\/blog\/2012\/12\/red-bull-flugtag-2012-at-the-va-waterfront\/\">V&amp;A Waterfront<\/a> docks were graced by 3 more tall ships, this time Dutch &#8211; the\u00a0<em>Tecla, Europa\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Oosterschelde<\/em>. We checked them out on Mother&#8217;s Day when they were open to the public and then watched them depart for Durban the morning of the 14th.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a ships was either over or approaching their 100th birthday &#8211; the\u00a0<em>Tecla<\/em> was the smallest and the\u00a0<em>Oosterschelde\u00a0<\/em>the largest, and the one where people were allowed take to the sea (with a very loud send off from the Cannon Association of South Africa).
